Poetry by Etta Mae
Hi Everyone. My friend Etta Mae (a blog follower too) has written poetry over the years but I just found out about it during a walk, picnic lunch, and visit that we shared recently. I asked her if I could post a couple for you. She agreed and so here they are. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
Divine Appointment
An ordinary day can bring
Much joy if you are following
The path the Lord has planned for you.
You go about your daily task
Not knowing that someone may ask
For comfort or encouragement from you.
Blessings gathered o’er lifelong
Are multiplied when passed along
To others He may bless through you.
So, keep alert to those about
Be ready for without a doubt
God has an appointment made for you.
Yellow
When told you have a yellow streak,
You think it is insulting.
Yet in God’s view, of which I speak,
It really is exalting.
For everywhere on God’s green earth,
We find it is abundant
And anything that God gives worth,
I would not call redundant
The smallest flower and tallest tree,
He sprinkles with his gold.
The bird on wing and fish in sea,
Are often bright and bold.
When you see that sunny shade
Of yellow or gold so bright.
Don’t ever forget that God has made
These things for His delight.

Beautiful thoughts. Please thank Mrs. Etta Mae.
My favorite line from the first poem is:
“…Blessings gathered o’er lifelong
Are multiplied when passed along…”
