Pinhead Moments
One friend reached into her purse for her cell phone and pulled out the TV remote instead! Another put on a pair of earrings but when she looked in the mirror she realized she was wearing two different kinds. Back to the jewelry box to make the switch and when she checked again she was wearing the other two! Help, Lord, these pinhead moments are getting the best of us and I’m not above them either. I opened the pantry yesterday looking for a chicken to defrost and when I checked the freezer I noticed a box of crackers.
All we can do is chuckle and keep going, though such events can be alarming. I don’t want to spend all my time undoing the mistakes I made while in the twilight zone.
Please, Lord, help me to wake up and stay awake—until bedtime—and to stop, look, and listen before I make a decision. At this stage of life, time may not be on my side, but you are and you always will be. That’s good enough for me—and more than I deserve.
I relate!
Thanks, Carol. Nice to know I’m not alone. 🙂
Totally relate to this. I am doing it more and more and get in irrational fear thinking it may be the beginning of Alzheimers, which is in my immediate family. I love your prayer at the end. I’m going to go with that more often!
Thanks, Heidi. I think we’re all prone to pinhead moments, especially when we’re under stress.
I’m just thankful I can still feed myself and take care of my personal needs!! Because of my balance problem, most mornings when I get up and put my hands on my walker, I say: ” Okay, God, you and I can do this”! And we do! Blessed be the name of the Lord!
I like your prayer!
Blessings and love to you. Margaret
Thanks, Margaret. I know the feeling. Getting up every day and trusting God for each new step. And He does come through.
I just talked to a friend yesterday and we were lamenting this very issue.
She found her salt in the freezer. Saying to herself ” Who put that there?” Then laughed because she lives alone!!!
Yes, it is better to smile and just go on. Except for the fact that her mother 101 and still remembers everything!!! We are only 88!!
My prayer is that I will remember to be thankful even if I forget everything else!!
I agree. Let’s always be thankful even when we forget. I’ll remember that.
Dear Karen thank you for your insight and encouragement. I look
I look forward to hearing from you. KAREN
Hi Karen. Thanks for your comment. It’s great to hear from you.
I’m NOT ALONE. LOL LOL.
You definitely are not alone!! Good to hear from you, Jim.
Have you ever pointed your phone at the Tv. and try to change channels? I have, only to feel silly afterwards!!! This happened while watching tv. in bed at night.
I know the feeling. At least we can laugh about it and carry on. Thanks, Mary.
Thanks – I thought I was going crazy, but now I know it is not just me. I am so thankful that the Lord loves me no matter how old and wacky I am. Blessings
Thanks, Lynn. We’re all in this together! Yippee!
