May Flowers
Finally! Spring flowers. It is such a joy to see God’s lovely blossoms all round. Birds are calling and grass is growing and trees are beckoning cardinals.
I’m so grateful for these gifts of nature, ours for the pleasure of our senses.
One of my happiest of memories from my childhood is the beautiful corsages my dad would give to Mom and me and my sister June for Easter.
Flowers were a big part of my early life, thanks to Daddy and Grandpa, who grew roses in our garden.
“I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;”
William Wordsworth
Luke 12:27 ESV
“Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”
Karen,
You quoted one of my favorite poems! Daffodils are my very favorite flowers. I too have been enjoying all the beauty of God’s creation around me here in Mt. Hermon. You know how lovely spring is here from your many visits. God bless you, dear friend.
Etta Mae, thank you for your lovely post and warmsentiment.
Dear Karen,
So happy to hear from you once more. Have missed your messages for some time. Were you unwell ???? Hope all is ok. Love the Daffodil poem from my childhood. Have several plots of them in my garden, or at least I should say, I DID have them. Their lovely faces have died and their beauty has been taken up by lilacs here in Nevada. Looking forward to many of your inspiring weekly thoughts.
Hugs,
Terri
Hi Karen,
Thank you for your writing about the joy and beauty of spring. I have h such an overwhelming sense of gratitude when I’m taking photos of many beautiful flowers from Trader Joe’. It is so joyful to listen to the symphany of birds singing sweetly. Everything is so sunny now and I truly love God’s beautiful creations.
I love to buy flowers for my photographs and then give them away. People are always so happy to receive flowers. I am so thankful to be in California. I moved from the Midwest in 1986.
Bless you Karen.
Sandy
