Little Things Mean A Lot — 12 Comments

  1. It’s a nice reminder that we can rekindle joy in another person by a spark that comes from a thoughtful word, gesture or even a small gift. Such kindness is a lovely thing, indeed!

  2. I have been going through boxes of old photos, letters and other mementoes today . A bit overwhelming. Many of them date back 125-150 years ago. .All the important happening are recorded is those tangible items. Like all of your small items , precious to the long gone people who saved them . Theses people include. 4 generations of my husband’s family !
I have to pass them on to someone who will appreciate them . Not easy these days
Thanks for sharing your treasures ❤️

    • What lovely treasures you have, Etta Mae. Warms my heart to read about them. I’m happy to hear, as well, that you once visited Catalina. It has changed over time but it still has the feel of years gone by.

  3. This is so sweet and a reminder of stopping to remember the small gestures of friends and loved ones who bless us along the way. Thank you again, Karen.

  4. Karen, I smile each time I see your books on a shelf near my desk, a reminder of the change you made in my life. I still have the writing course material from so long ago. Now with six published books under my almost 93 year old belt, I feel so blessed. I’m now on page 74 of a sequel to Decent Deceit. Doing so at my age may appear stupid to others, but I do it because I continue to love writing.

    Continue to enjoy your treasures.

    • Marie, you bless me, as well. You were one of my prized students and it warms me to know you continue to love writing and that you have six published books. How amazing! Keep going.

  5. Goodness! I could write a book in response to this wonderful news! I too am going through a lot of treasures and some are over 100 years old. I was thrilled not long ago when one of my granddaughters said she wanted the really old mantle clock that was my Dad’s. I really cherish the doll furniture my sister who was 4 years older than me played with. As I said, I really could write a small book about some of them, You saw some of the furniture in the book I wrote about my life.
    Thanks, Dear. Margaret

    • Margaret, I’m with you. These dear treasures mean even more to us as we age and appreciate the gift of life and family and loving friends.

  6. Your notes are always so loving and thoughtful as are the responses. Thanks for putting into words so many special feelings and reminding us of what’s important. Thanks also for your humorous books, they still provide fun on repeat readings.

    • Thanks for this delightful response. The older I get the more I appreciate sharing words that mean something to me and hearing that they bless my readers, as well, you among them.
