Lending A Hand and An Ear
While at my grandson Noah’s house for Thanksgiving, I needed a little extra help with stairs and the like. His wife May’s brother Tyler, young and strong, offered me a hand to guide me on a short walk after dinner.
What a difference it made. He gave me his ear, as well, when I needed some words repeated.
Just a few months ago, I was able to take care of myself overall and I’m doing quite well here at Provision. But my point is that things have changed and continue to change as I age. Thank heaven for people who understand and care make it known in their gestures.
I’m reminded of how we all need each other at one time or another and we shouldn’t hide it. I’m thinking of my mother and dad who took such good care of us kids and then who really needed us to care for them when they grew old.
But what is even more important is how God cares for us in all situations –without a word from any of us. We don’t have to ask. We can assume because he loves us and that’s what love does –and God IS LOVE.
1 John 4:16. “So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”
Dear Karen,
I appreciate your writing and am touched how you were taken care of when walking up the steps and also when you went on a short walk. The Lord loves us and He does take care of us. How heartwarming it is to hear how your family loves you and wants to help you when you need it. I am happy that you live near Julie and you are happy living at Provision. How wonderful that you have a family that loves you so much. Love you.
Sandy

Great story! It’s indeed comforting to know that the LORD provides for all of us – just when we need it!
