It’s Okay to Slow Down
We had some wonderful rain the last few days and oh how we needed it. I decided to take advantage of this lovely gift and stay indoors one day all day–in my bathrobe. It felt so good to be ‘lazy.’ I read, watched TV, strolled from one room to another to get my exercise and caught up on some emails.
I had such a lovely time slowing down I decided to include this in my routine whenever I need a break from the hurry scurry I had become too used to.
Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Love this. I must try soon! love you.
Thank you, Heidi.
Yes indeed
I don’t need to feel guilty
I agree.–no guilt.
Yes it does feel good to slow down and do nothing. Just to be in the house all day and stay in your gown or whatever you want to put on is great, Now that I am 95 (ha) I don’t have a choice but I do have a choice to slow down in my thoughts! smile! I cannot do anything outside but could slow down some in the house by realizing I cannot write all the cards, letters and respond to all the emails in one day! HA! It still feels good and I am so thankful I am able to “slow down” without Pain! God is go good to me and I thank Him many many times a day as He and Jesus are always with me if I let them and most of the time I let them! I have to admit some days I keep pushing to finish something when THEY let me know I must slow down. I am happy to do so.
Thanks for another good thought, karen. Margaret
Enjoy your quiet moments, Margaret. I am doing the same with mine.
All my gifts are wrapped and those that needed to be mailed – have been mailed. Food for Christmas Eve, Christmas breakfast and Christmas dinner has all been purchased … and waiting to be prepared. Since I love to cook- this is one of the times of the year for me to serve my family with a gift God has given me and believe it or not, it’s not stressful or burdensome for me. Jesus is truly “the Reason for the Season” and as I focus on Him, I wish one and all a time of quiet reflection, with joyful hearts, and gratitude and love for one another during this Holy season. Merry Christmas!
A beautiful share, Glenda. Enjoy your time with your family,
Stop and smell the roses. More meaning to that…than I realized. God’s creation is out there for us to enjoy.
Be it through our window on a rainy day. A day in my robe and moving slow is always a pleasure. This time of year it’s time to stop, slow down, and remember the baby in a Manger who came to save us and Know that we are forgiven.
Thank You, Karen
Thanks for these beautiful words, Joan.
A great example for all of us. When we rest at the right time we have strength for the next task or enjoyment.
I hope that you will have a lovely time with family through the Holidays! The wonder of His coming is renewed every year. Yes and sometimes, every day.
