Happy Labor Day!
I’m taking the day off. I hope you are too. We all work hard. Today is a good day to play hard, free of work and worry–just enjoying the fruit of our labors.
Psalm 90:17
May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us-yes, establish the work of our hands. (NIV)
Psalm 128:2
You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. (NIV)
“It is sweet to let the mind unbend on occasion.”
~ Horace
The best way to take the day off is to sit down and read a good book. Yes, I’m doing it!
Great idea. I’ll be reading my current book tonight, my favorite time to read.
I had a free hour at church on Sunday. The class I tried to attend wasn’t scheduled until next week, so I went to tbe library. I had a relaxing Labor Day reading the novel I checked out. 🙂
What a great alternative!
It is always a good time to read a good book and to spend some time in prayer. We have been praying all week for those who are working hard to protect their property and themselves from Hurricane Irma-the strongest hurricane recorded-category 5 ! We are praying the storm will turn and miss us, here in Florida. We are more safe here in Orlando but my former neighbor in South Fl. may be in great danger.> on Labor day I could not help but think of the old Hymn: “work for the night is coming, when man’s work is done”. Blessings and peace to all. Margaret
Thank you, Margaret. I hope the whole nation is in prayer for the hurricane victims. It’s been quite a year with flooding on the east and south coasts and horrific fires in the northwest. I’m glad you are safe in Orlando.
