Be Still
Recently I joined a group of people as we meditated on the goodness and presence of God. Our leader encouraged us to say the following prayer based on the first half of Psalm 46:10. I found it very comforting. Maybe it will comfort you too.
Be still and know that I am God
Be still and know that I am
Be still and know that I
Be still and know that
Be still and know.
What a beautiful reminder that our all-powerful and loving God IS.
Let’s put down our worries and anxiety and trust God to take complete care of us.
Wonderful reminder is Psalm 46:10!!
Thank you, Heidi.
I’m part of the leadership team for my local Community Bible Study (CBS) and every Tuesday morning during our course year we take time to praise God and His attributes. We always run out of time before we ever run out of His attributes. Truly He is our everything!
I love hearing this.
Amen, amen, amen!
And Amen!
Great reminder to be still! Thanks Karen.
I have been purposefully “being still” on my porch with your book, The Beauty of Aging. It has been a timely re-read for me and needed moments of stillness.

How nice to hear you are reading my book. I appreciate it.
I cannot count the times I say to myself “Be Still and know that I am God”. Then I think of a song I can still hear my Dad singing as he would walk through his house while visiting with him long after I was divorced”Why should I feel discouraged …. His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me, and for some reason these two songs , yes there is a song “Be Still and know that I am God” co well together. Thank you Karen for the reminder. Love and blessings to you. Margaret
Thank you, Karen, you posts always lift me up and also slow me down to meditate of the goodness and lope of our Lord.
Thank You Karen
I have a daily devotional I found at CVS of all places. It’s titled “Be Still and Know…with rest of the verse on the back. Being Still is a deliberately action for me…to take time and slow down … and appreciate who God is and that he cares about me.
