A Time to Rekindle
The following passage from Proverbs 3:5-6 from The Message says all that I’m trying to say today and much more as we get on with this new year of grace.
Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he’s the one who will keep you on track.
Don’t assume that you know it all.
Run to God! Run from evil!
Your body will glow with health,
your very bones will vibrate with life!
Honor God with everything you own;
give him the first and the best.
Your barns will burst,
your wine vats will brim over.
But don’t, dear friend, resent God’s discipline;
don’t sulk under his loving correction.
It’s the child he loves that God corrects;
a father’s delight is behind all this.
Thank you for reminding me the right things to do. I know God will do what is best for me and not what I think may be best.
Hi Karen. Thanks for your lovely comment. I hope you and your family are well and will have a wonderful new year.
Dear Karen,
Thank you for this reminder. I find the entire book of Proverbs is a great guide to follow. I hope you have a wonderful, healthful year.
Marie
And the same good wishes for you, Marie. It’s always a pleasure to hear from you.
I say a big AMEN to this one! I think of the old hymn ” Trust and Obey”. We need to believe He is with us always, listening to us and will respond with what He knows it best for us. We have to ask, then let it go-that is the difficult part sometimes – letting go. Sometimes I want to hang on! I need to learn to ask and then ACCEPT what HE offers, knowing it is the best.
Thanks, Karen. Love and blessings to you. Margaret
Thanks, Margaret. I need this reminder daily, as well.
I love this scripture, Karen, especially the reminder not to try to do everything on my own (my tendency). Thank you for the reminder!
You are so welcome. I need the same reminder on a daily basis.
I love this! Thanks for sharing, Karen! 🙂
Thanks for your comment, Sherry. Good to hear these words touched you.
Happy New Year Karen- I really love the message version of these verses. I enjoyed Margaret’s comment that it’s HARD to let go- the faith part- but we must! Wishing you much grace in 2019.
Thank you for your warm comment, Angela. I wish you much grace in this new year, as well.
Karen thanks for this wonderful scripture. I hear a lot about friends reflecting on their life lately, it’s good to do that.
Wonderful to hear from you, Mary. May your new year be bright with God’s blessings.
