  1. My flowers garden is really beautiful. Our vegetable garden is doing good as
well. I have done three new videos for art instruction. Thirty-one videos have now been completed. I have enjoyed doing them with new paintings being completed differently than what I would ordinarily do.

I treasure the quiet time and have been out very little. I’ms thankful it doesn’t bother me to be alone.

    • I feel the same way, Virla. I’m an introvert at heart so I don’t mind being home most of the time. I love to read and to putter around my house and yard and I enjoy a daily walk. I’m happy to hear you are enjoying your art instruction. How satisfying that must be.

  2. Hey, Mrs. Karen,

Your garden and home look pleasantly inviting!Isn’t it refreshing to refresh things?

I’ve been using this time to finally get my website and blog designed and set up, continuing to write on a book project and prepare for my first writing conference (which was cancelled and is now an online event).

My theme word for 2020 is “Abound.” And, I determined that this year is my now or never. If I don’t make a go at my writing with some visible progress in the next few years. I’m turning off the computer, putting the cap on my pen and heart, making airplanes out of my scribbles, and heading out to the garden before I’m put to pasture.

This unique season has given me the time to focus and for that I’m extremely grateful while praying for those whose lives are turned upside down.

Are you writing for any new projects right now?

    Smiles, BRC

    • Oh Beth, don’t be too quick to give up. I know you can achieve your writing dreams. I am finished with book writing but continue to teach writing online to homeschooled young people and I keep up my weekly blog. That’s a good combination for me at this stage of life as I also enjoy travel, playing with my great grandchild when we aren’t in quarantine, and I love to walk and hike. Going to the Sierra with a group of gals in July and on a cruise of the Mississippi In late October. Take good care.

      • Thank you Karen. Sounds like you have an exciting and enjoyable plan!

I’m keeping my goals in front of me and chasing them hard. Thanks for the wonderful inspiration and motivation you have been to me since I first met you through the CWG.

Enjoy the Mississippi. I’ll wave at you from my Mississippi home when you paddle by.

        Smiles, BRC

  3. Thank you Karen for sharing your shutting in time. The down time has been interesting to sat the least.
Russ and I married mother’s day weekend. So our honeymoon has been here at home. It’s been fun doing projects together. Russ is semi retired so he is gone most mornings. Today was his last radiation treatment. He tolerated it very well. Before that and before we werr married he had double hernia surgery. So in sickness and health has kicked big time. Add the virus if you want…we tend to ignore it. We are careful but common sense has to kick in. Having gardening what little we do as we are limited for space.
Sorry to go on and on. Sheltering on had not been all bad. I am sorry for those who are suffering

    • Hi Joan. Congratulations on your wedding. I’d love to see a couple photos. Sorry to hear Russ has had some health issues. But I’m sure you are right by his side to encourage him. Stay well and thanks for staying in touch.

  4. Karen Your pages came to me at a very good time. Looks like you have been quite busy during our down time.I also had word from my best friend from school(55)years ago.Her cancer has returned different from 1st.time and faces radiation for weeks to slow the invasion going on. Prayers are welcome. She says God will take care of her and I believe also he will.

    • Joynelle, thanks for your share. I do pray right now for your friend battling cancer. May the treatment bring her some healing and peace and more time to be with her family and friends. God is in charge. I’m happy she knows that.

  5. I love your house and the surroundings. It looks most comfortable and inviting. I don’t mind being at home all the time because I have no choice~smile! In the first place, I am never alone. I can always feel God’s pesence with me if I want to! I know He is there and He is with each of us so we are never alone. We do have to do our part and invite Him in! I enjoy the comments from the other people who write to you – I can always learn something from each of them. Thank you, my friends! Love and blessings to all. May we soon be free from the virus and I know we will be grateful to God for gettiig us through it! Love, Margaret

  6. Thanks, Margaret, for your ever encouraging comments. Knowing God makes all the difference, doesn’t it? I too, don’t mind being home more than usual, though I do get out to grocery shop and to walk with one friend at a time. I am reading more and taking more time to spend in quiet with the Lord.

  7. I’ve been enjoying being an introvert! Reading, writing, and getting back to learning more crochet stitches. It is fun!

    • Thanks for sharing a comment, Ethel, So nice to hear from you. I’m an introvert too, so the time of sheltering is not too bad for me. I have plenty of projects and books to keep me occupied.
