A Blue Sky Day!
I looked through my collection of travel photos this week and this one popped out. It is just what I needed to see–a reminder of a gorgeous day on one of the bus trips I took a few years ago. I wish I could live that day all over again.
But I can only do so in my memory, in my mind. Like all days, it came and went, to be replaced by another. Now that I’m 83 years old, pushing toward 84, I’m more aware than ever of the fast pace of life and how precious each moment is.
I have so much to be grateful for: lessons learned, people loved, friends enjoyed, and experiences treasured.
Today I will just BE until today turns into tomorrow and more lessons, people, friends and experiences add a new wave of joy and gratitude to the life I’m living.
How about you? What is special about today to you?
“Life is short and every moment is precious.”

It’s always special to receive your blog since it’s chock full of great wisdom, love and personal reflection we can all relate to. Thanks again for “making” my day!
Thanks, Glenda. I love your comment and really enjoyed our phone chat this week.
As I am 82 and thinking about 83 this message hits home to me. – a reminder to treasure each day, it’s happenings and people.
Thanks, Maureen. So glad you are enjoying each day, truly God’s gifts to us.
Beautiful! I have a great collection of photos of beautiful huge white fluffy clouds floating around in a bright blue sky! Many of them are taken from our back yard where there is a pond next to a golf course and the clouds are reflecting in the pond~God does provide such beautiful things to see and I am so thankful I have eyes to see them, Thanks Karen love you. Margaret
Thanks, Margaret. Yes, the gift of each day and the health to enjoy it is so precious.
Today I had lunch with 6 women who worked at Harvest House Publishers with me until Harvest House unceremoniously downsized all of us. This is the positive that came out of that difficult time. I love these women, and we have become closer as the years have gone by. We visit, support each other, and always lift each other up in prayer. I thank God for each one of them. They help me walk in gratitude for all God provides.
Barb, what a beautiful comment. Such friends are so special. I’m happy to hear you have each other.
How important it is to stop snd smell the roses. One needs to appreciate each day that is given to us. The picture is a reminder of trips I have taken over the years. Viewing Gods handy work never ceases to amaze me. Each day is a gift.
Thanks for reminding us to ‘smell the roses,’ Joan. I’m with you on that.
What a beautiful sight, Karen. I know you enjoyed that trip very much. What’s special about today? Don and I got to drive together to two appointments in Palo Alto and Menlo Park, rather than each driving alone at separate times.
Hope this day has been meaningful for you!
Thanks, Carol. I love hearing from you.
