Two Happy Birthdays This Week
My nephew Christian on the 6th and my oldest daughter Julie on the 7th. Love you both.
Hello November with its chilly winds, autumn leaves, cozy sweaters and mugs of hot chocolate or warm apple cider. I’m spending time coloring for fun with our new Coloring Club and reading a cool book Brothers and Wives about the two British princes, William and Harry and their wives.
I’m also enjoying spending time with the members of my writing clinic. I am continually amazed at how much people have to share about their lives and how much we all have in common regardless of our backgrounds.
I’ve always been interested in people, but even moreso now that I have so many new men and women in my life.
I love this quote from Father Richard Rohr: “The spiritual journey could be seen as a constant purification of motive until we can finally say, I have no other reason to do anything except love of God and love of my neighbor.”
Imagine what the world would be if this were true of each one of us.
Blessings on your week.
Lots of Fall birthdays to celebrate! Mine was on October 28th. I love reading about your activities- especially the writing group. Blessings to you too, my dear friend!
Glenda, I am so sorry to have forgotten to wish you a HBD on Oct. 28. I had it marked on my calendar but then forgot to acknowledge it.
I love you Mom!
This is a lovely photo and reflection!
I love it too and am happy I am now living close to you on your birthday and everyday.
Love the quote you shared, Karen…! Carolyn Curtis
Thank you, Carolyn. Good to hear from you.
Hi Karen, I’m so glad to find you again, well and still writing and living well. FB seems a poor way to keep in touch sometimes. Your November post inspires me to have a better attitude regarding our prairie winters. I thank God for you, Karen, and the impact you’ve made on my writing and life. May you continue to find joy around all life’s corners, even when doing so means sifting among the piles of (too often unwelcome) change. Blessings, dear lady!
Kathleen, how wonderful to reconnect with you. I am now living at Provision Living in Cincinnati two miles from my daughter Julie. iI hope all is well with you. I am retired now and loving this new chapter of my life.
Your patient and cheerful attitude toward those big changes inspires me, Karen. I retired from my government work a year ago. My husband and I have also moved. We’re in a far more accessible home, close to our daughter and family. He has had numerous major health crises since you and I last connected, and I’m blessed that I’m able to be his full-time caregiver. God is still better to us than we deserve, Karen! I look forward to more of life’s adventures and opportunity–just within a more confined space! Hugs and blessings…with gratitude for your example in writing and life.
I love that you participate in a writing clinic! That sounds like fun. And you’re coloring too?! You are inspiring me! I’m glad to have found your blog thanks to Julie. I love you guys so much!
Thanks for your kind words, Carmen. I’m writing and coloring–so relaxing to share my loves with others.
