An Autumn Poem

Autumn
by Emily Dickinson
The nuts are getting brown;
The berry’s cheek is plumper,
The rose is out of town.
The field a scarlet gown.
Lest I should be old-fashioned,
I’ll put a trinket on

I was so inspired by Emily’s poem written for this beautiful time of year I decided to purchase a couple of fall sweaters and some cozy wool socks.
We played a game of corn hole outside today and we could tell by the wind that winter is on its way. The leaves are turning and the summer flowers are dropping their petals.
Praise God from whom all the blessings of life flow throughout the year.
Jeremiah 5:24 (ESV): “They do not say in their hearts, ‘Let us fear the Lord our God, who gives the rain in its season, the autumn rain and the spring rain, and keeps for us the weeks appointed for the harvest.”
We don’t have drastic changes in the seasons here in San Diego- but I do enjoy the subtle changes we have. Happy Fall!!
I miss San Diego and Santa Cruz but I’m an adaptable person sp I’m learning to love wherever I am. 🥰
Yes, Mount Hermon is taking on the feel of fall also ! Such unexpected warm days and then suddenly cool nights and bright red poison oak! Many other less fall leaves that are safe to touch are nearby .
Each season has it’s mixture of blessings and challenges . Just like our lives. Our God is with us through it all
So great that you are having many new friends and activities . I know your bless everyone you meet !♥️😀
Thank you, Etta Mae. I’m with you. God is with us in every season.
This is beautiful! Thanks for sharing it.
You’re very welcome. It’s wonderful to hear from you.
