A Different Kind of Life
How things have changed. I am very happy here at Provision Living but my routine is different than my life in California. I have breakfast with friends at 7:00 in the morning and then I go for a morning walk in our beautiful courtyard. Next I join an exercise or line dance class, ride a stationery bike or read in my apartment. I have therapy twice or three times a week to help me heal my vision and balance. Both are coming along so I am very grateful. I’m slow to read but that is improving too.
Every day there is something to enjoy including playing table games, wii sports or a movie and popcorn. The staff is attentive and kind and the residents are varied and overall friendly. I’ve made good friends.
My daughter Julie is close by and she is so helpful and good to me. I had fun with her buying some new summer clothes for the weather here. It felt good to go shopping after staying out of stores for years.
I’m reading two autobiographies now–one by Prince Harry and the other by Paul Newman.
I will do my best to resume my blog and try to make it interesting. I’m just now starting to feel comfortable again on the computer. Reading and writing are a challenge.
Here is a beautiful quote to consider: “I awoke this morning with devout thanksgiving for my friends, the old and the new (Ralph Waldo Emerson.) (including you, dear readers.)
Thanks for sharing your journey and new phase of life Karen. It’s good to picture where you are and what you are doing. You always see the bright side and are adapting well. Good for you, Friend!
Thanks, Marcia. Things continue to go well. God is faithful.
Nice to hear you’re adjusting so comfortably and that your daughter is so lovingly involved ♥️
Terrie
Thanks for thinking of me, Terrie. All isI going well.
I’m glad to hear you are doing well. Life marches on for all of us. Stay strong.
John, so good to see your name and good wishes. I hope you are doing well too.
What a delight to hear from you. Your new home that you have shared with us sounds very pleasant. Did you bring the African Violets from your home in San Diego. They look so lovely in your window. Nice that your daughter is close by. Looking forward to more blogs. Blessings & HUGS
Thanks, Joan. The violets are from my daughter, who has some in her home too. They bring me a lot of joy.
Dear Karen,
I am so thankful you have Julie near you and you have so many positive things that you are doing. How wonderful that you have established new routines that are fulfilling and joyous. You are a remarkable woman.
Would you please give me your address again? I’d like to send you a card.
Love you.
Sandy

I love reading this update and I love having the opportunity to pray for the restoration of your balance and eyesight. God’s loving kindness is never ending.
Love, hugs and continued blessings,
Glenda
Thank you, faithful friend. I appreciate your prayers so much.
Oh, Karen, I had to back up a couple of posts to see why you’d moved. (I’ve been off FB for reasons of my own–but nothing serious.) I’ll be praying now too for full restoration of what you lost with the stroke. Your attitude is amazing, and exactly what I would have expected. You always “look for the good” in any situation, and when you seek, you find it! I’m so glad you’re near family now. Love and massive hugs! Kristi
Kristi, I so loved reading your kind comment. All is going well. I am content with what God has given me.

I love how you are taking your transitions and challenges with such grace. Your window garden is lovely by the way.
I’m also so glad you are still trying to read and write.
It’s great to read your inspiring and insightful words again.
It would be great to hear more about how your life has changed. What you enjoy or don’t particularly like. How its different and what has surprised you most about this season of your life.
Praying God continues to bless you in your recovery.
