Ah Sweet Sunshine
After days and weeks of rain the sun has opened its beautiful face to us once again and I am so grateful. I will be walking, chatting with neighbors, driving to the park and to the store and pulling some weeds in my yard.
How appropriate a time to enjoy this lovely poem from Emily Dickinson:
I’ll Tell You How the Sun Rose
I’ll tell you how the Sun rose –
A Ribbon at a time –
The Steeples swam in Amethyst –
The news, like Squirrels, ran –
The Hills untied their Bonnets –
The Bobolinks – begun –
Then I said softly to myself –
‘That must have been the Sun!’
Indeed!
“From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!” Psalm 113:3
I am praising the Lord each day for this awesome blessing.
I’m also praising the LORD for the lovely sunshine. While not on your level, SoCal seemed to also have never- ending rain. The ground at my house is still damp enough that weeds pull out easily, though. It seems I have my work cut out for me for the next few days but I count it all joy to be able to work in my garden. God is good.
Thanks for this lovely ‘share.’ Enjoy your gardening. Let’s talk soon. I’m slowly returning to my routine.
Thank you, Karen, this is lovely! We have a great view of the sunset from our house and wish you could see the colors the sun puts on the clouds and the reflections in the water on the pond between our house and large grass area that used to be a golf course but now just a pretty grass area. We don’t see the sunrise but the sunset is awesome and I thank God every day for the view and I have eyes to see it! We are blessed! Love you. Margaret
Welcoming the Sun with you Karen.
Smiles, BRC
Thank you Karen, the sun is shining brightly here in Central Valley.
A nice drying off time. It is crisp and very cold. Also frost on the roof tops and cars. God’s weather can be very fascinating.
Reading this made me think of a song we used to sing in my Sunday school class.
“Heavenly Sunshine, heavenly sunshine.
Flooding my soul with glory divine.
Hallelujah! I am rejoicing.
Singing His praises. Jesus is mine.”
He is the Light of the World! 🧡
Thanks for reminding me of those old songs.
Some how your replys are not coming through. That is, if you are sending them.
