It’s Raining; It’s Pouring
Oh my it is. More and more and more. Yes, we Californians needed it so thank you, dear God for providing.
I live in Watsonville on the Central Coast and have been spared the flooding you are probably aware of. But I did have to evacuate twice. Fortunately, my daughter Erin and her family live in nearby Santa Cruz and were able to ‘put me up’ while away from home. I’m back in my house now and the police have not come to my door again announcing another evacuation order, and the water on our street has subsided, so I am very grateful. But for many, returning home will be many months in the future. Clean-up crews are at work and will continue for some time.
This experience has shown me once again that only God is in charge of all aspects of our lives.
Philippians 4:6-7 … Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests …
Oh my! I had no idea you had to evacuate. Nothing like that here in LJ but the rain stops for maybe an hour or two and then starts up again. It’s been this way for several weeks. But I’m sure you can relate.
We can be thankful for the rain that we’ve needed for so long but a break would such a blessing!
Yes, it’s been a bit stressful but we are easing back into our routine, thank God.
I missed out on the worst of it here in Mt. Hermon. I was in Texas from Dec.20-Jan. 7. As you may have heard there were considerable problems here with the road wash-out and some small slides. All clear now but still some cleanup to do. My home is high on the mountain so I had no problems here. Thanking the Lord for the rain and praying for all those who lost so much or had much to clean up. God bless you, Karen!
Glad to hear you are safe and your home too. I know Mount Hermon suffered some damage.
I am so glad you are OK Karen. Here in the San Diego County, like you, we have been deluged. I know we need the rain, but a break would be nice.
I think God is cleansing California from its ills. He is flowing His nurturing water through the land.
Good point, Lynn. God will take care of all of us.
It is good to know you did not have to evacuate for a flood as I know it can be a terrible thing. Even tho we were not living in Paducah, Ky during the ‘Great Flood (forget the year) but I remember the newspaper photos and it was a nightmare. Thanking God you are okay! Margaret
Thank you, Margaret. I am safe at home now and the rain has ceased. Sunshine is brightening our days once again, thank God.
Thank you Karen. Glad you are home safe and sound. Visalia had some roads flooded out. People out in the country had more damage. We are in such need of rain. I’m sorry for the people who have suffered from the storm we had.
The lakes are filling up and the rivers are running full. Nothing like the Lord’s rain.
So thankful God has kept you high and dry Karen.
Smiles, BRC
