The Joy of Meditating
For the last six months or so I’ve been spending ten to twenty minutes at the start of each day meditating. I found some wonderful choices on Spotify. I breathe deeply–in and out, in and out, while focusing on the soothing words spoken as I relax in my red chair.
One of the best parts is the encouragement to notice my daily blessings: fresh air to breathe, food to eat, water to drink, the ability to hear, see, speak and so on. It is easy to overlook these gifts when I rush into my day without stopping to notice and give thanks.
A new year is a beautiful opportunity to once again pay attention to the life we have, the people we love and who love us. And most important, the God who is the author of it all.
We have soooo many blessings. He IS the author of them all, indeed!
Thank you, Glenda. I totally agree.
Amen!!! We are so blessed and the Lord is the greatest blessing. Just to know His presence is always with us!
Reminds me of the old hymn.
“Count your blessings name them one by one.
Count your many blessings see what God has done”
I love this hymn.
Always enjoyed reading your posts
any suggestions on the Spotify podcast music?
You are truly an inspiration and very relevant for my age thanks again
Sushila, thank you for your kind words. I suggest Mountain Meditation on Spotify.
There is a children’s song that I love : “count your blessings, name them one by one, count your blessings see what God has done”. Well of course there is no way we can count all of them but we can Thank Him many times a day for what he has done for us and give Him Thanks for all the things he is still doing for us. The list is endless! You, my Friend Karen, are one of my blessings and I thank Him and thank YOU! Love and blessings to you, Margaret
Margaret, thank you for reminding us of this sweet hymn.
