Paying Attention
Last week I had a small stroke. I had been walking with my neighbor and suddenly I felt so weak I had to sit down on the curb while she ran ahead to get me some water. Then we finished our walk–just a short distance. My friend went to her house and I went to mine–key in hand. But before I could open the door I passed out and hit my head on the floor of my front porch. Next thing I knew I woke up, managed to open the door and wobble inside.
I plopped down on a nearby chair and phoned my daughter at work. She called 911 and suddenly I was in an ambulance on the way to the hospital where I was well cared for overnight.
I am now adapting to a new med regimen and very grateful to be recovering without any physical impairment.
It is surprising how quickly our lives can turn around and how blessed we are to have the resources and the people in our lives that can come to our rescue when we need them.
Thank God!
All of this prompted me to look at the priorities in my life once again.

You are so loved by God, your family and me! Sending prayers, hugs and blessings to you across the miles. 🙂
Thank you, dear friend.
I thank God that He was with you and you will be alright. We do need to get our priorities right and we must put our faith and trust in God. I like the song:”Keep you eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things on earth shall grow strangely dim in His light and His wonder and grace” I am so thankful you are okay! Love you, Margaret

I am so glad you are okay, Karen! My heart dropped at the word stroke. Having seriously fractured my ankle a month ago, I’m more aware of the fragility of bodies these days.
I’m glad you’re taking care of yourself and you have loving family and friends surrounding you and supporting you. I hope you know I’m one of them.🥰
You always hold a special place in my heart.
Thank you, Lord, for protecting Karen and for bringing the help she needed!
Karen, your influence and example have always meant so much to me. May God continue to bless you and keep you.
Oh my! Thank you sweet Jesus for your hand upon Karen! Praying full recovery!
Karen, you were able to gather your prayers to God and your personal strength
to have risen back to where you are today. A big hug is being sent your way!
Blessings.
Oh, dear friend, I am so glad you got attention so quickly.
I do agree things can happen so suddenly. I will pray that the new meds will keep things from going any further. So wonderful to know that our Heavenly Father watches over us. One day at a time. God bless you.
Karen, thanks for sharing your experience, and for the reminder to revisit our priorities and let them inform our daily living.
