As far as the east is from the west
This week a familiar bible verse came to my attention at the perfect time. Interesting, isn’t it, how God puts before us just what we need to hear when we need to hear it?
“He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.” (Psalm 103:12)
As some past shortcomings tugged at my mind one day, it was a great relief to remember that God had already taken care of them. The Lord is never focused on embarrassment or condemnation. He is all about love and forgiveness and grace.
A smile came over me and I let go of the thoughts, ready to start my day, hand in hand with God and the wonderful blessings he had for me.
Sure enough, answers to three dilemmas I faced came to me, and I went to bed that night enveloped in peace. What a loving God we serve.
No matter how great our concerns, God’s grace is greater. I’m learning that anew every single day.
What scripture has come to your rescue lately?
love this, mom!!! one of my favorite verses too and i love the song named after it. love you!!!!♥️
Thanks, Erin. A lovely comment.
Here is a verse that has always sustained me and provided me with comfort:
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 NIV
Have a blessed day, Karen!
That’s a great one too.
Thank you, Karen. This is my life verse and has rescued me many times and brought peace,
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-7
I love this verse, as well. One to cling to.
Oh how true! My problem is to remember I have to accept the fact God truly does remove our sins ~sometimes I have a problem of forgiving myself! At the same time I do thank God for HIS forgiveness. I am thankful I do know and trust God that He really does remove our sins and we must believe this and be forever grateful to Him. God will keep us in peace when we keep our minds on HIM. Thank you, Karen, and thank YOU GOD for loving us.
Love to you. Margaret
Yes, God’s peace keeps us and will never abandon us.
Psalm 27…this chapter gave me hope a number of years ago while in a dark time and it has been a source of encouragement to me all along my journey ever since.
Thanks for your encouraging post Karen.
Smiles, BRC
I waited patiently for God to help me; then he listened & heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair out of the mire and the bog and set my feet on a hard firm path and steadied me as I walked along.
Ps. 40: 1-2
God is always there for us 🙂
