Preferred Customer
A few days ago I received a flyer in the mail flattering me with the following headline:
PREFERRED CUSTOMER SAVINGS OFFER
It’s always nice to save a few bucks so I read the remainder of the offer but then decided it wasn’t right for me. Saving money on something I didn’t want, need, or care about wasn’t a savings after all. So I tossed the flyer and went on with my day.
Later that week I came across the following Bible verse in one of my readings:
“See how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us His children, and that is what we are!”(1 John 3:1)
God calls me his child, his friend, his beloved.
So much better than being called a Preferred Customer.
For the rest of the day I smiled every time I thought of what God thinks of me and I don’t have to do anything to be considered special in his eyes.
You get to use the “You are special” plate every meal and for all your snacks. I like that too–much better than a preferred customer.

I love your plate! Yes we are special to God, He created us to love Him. This is a good week to think about this. His love is so deep that when ‘we’ were not returning His love and he could not actually come to earth, He sent HIS Son, to show us how to live and love. We are so blessed and those of us who know HIM and Jesus are very fortunate. May we show Him just how much we do love Him is my prayer. We are special…but not the special the world values. Special to our Lord and Savior Jesus. We are loved and God paid a tremendous price sending His only son to redeem us.

We’re preferred customers to businesses because of what we spend.
We’re special to God because of what Jesus paid for us.
Jesus’s deal is preferred to me too.
