Bloomin’ Beauties
This week I’m making a point of walking among my flowers and appreciating them all over again, as they lift their pretty heads each morning. I will enjoy them while they last and remember their gifts of love and beauty and friendship and contentment right where they are, reminding me to give the same.
“Life is the flower for which love is the honey.” – Victor Hugo
“Minds are like flowers; they open only when the time is right.” – Stephen Richards
“Earth laughs in flowers.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Flowers don’t tell, they show.” – Stephanie Skeem
“Flowers are like friends; They bring color to your world.” – Unknown
“Where flowers bloom so does hope.” – Lady Bird Johnson
“Love is the flower you’ve got to let grow.” – John Lennon
Friends, please tell me about the special flowers in your life. There’s never a worry wherever there’s a flower.
“God writes the gospel not in the Bible alone, but on trees and flowers and clouds and stars.” Martin Luther
I love plumeria. It reminds me of Hawaii and wonderful family vacations.
Hi Glenda. I love hearing from you. Flowers bring people together. I miss you and hope all is well.
What lovely flowers, what lovely memories Karen. I especially like the quote from Martin Luther. We’ve just returned from Yosemite and yes, saw the wonder and the majesty of God through his marvelous creation!
So happy to hear you enjoyed Yosemite, Carol. It’s one of my favorite places in nature. I got together with some camping friends in Mammoth a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed a brief visit in Yosemite too.
I often think of my Mother when I think of flowers and how she loved them. She loved ALL flowers, including weeds. Dad actually did keep a shovel in the trunk of his car when they would be driving on a country road~just in case Mom spotted a ‘weed” or any kind of flowers she had not seen before and she would have Dad stop, dig it up and she would plant it in a pot or somewhere in the yard when they got home. Actually some of the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen are considered weeds and people did not want them in their yards, but I still have a favorite small purple “weed” I saw in my yard one day when I was feeling very sad and lonely. I had a low self esteem (thank goodness that was a once in a lifetime case) and I saw the tiny weed in my yard. I picked it and looked at the lovely purple tiny leaves along with the green, I studied it and thought that even weeds can be beautiful! This was soon after my husband had died, and I really did put it in my Journal and it is still there with it’s color still beautiful! God is so good and I thank Him for the weeds.
Thanks, Karen for bringing back special memories especially of my Mom and Dad! Love you, Margaret
Oh Margaret, what a special memory of sweet times with your parents so long ago. Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you Karen….I love all flowers. Cabbage roses are my favorite and I have many fond memories of them in my grandmothers garden. She managed that garden herself. Also all kinds of other flowers. The benefit of chickens and rabbits contributed to the soil.
It was a very special place.
Interestingly enough my three daughters have an appreciation for flowers. They all enjoy gardening. And so do I.
Thanks for sharing all this, Joan. How lovely that your grandmother’s love of flowers has trickled down the generations.
I love the tropical flowers where I live. A lot of the trees have flowers that go through multiple phases, from white and soft to red and hard. Thanks for these quotes!
Hi Johannah. Thanks for sharing about the tropical flowers you love where you live. How special to be able to step outside and see such beauty year-round.
How neat Karen! I just bought a book marker with this quote:
“Earth laughs in flowers.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
I really like nature quotes like these, especially about flowers.
I wish I could have posted a pic of my bright pink hibiscus. 🌺
It is vibrant and so big & cheery! It thrives in the sun like me!
🌸Smiles, BRC
What a lovely thing to hear about your bright pink hibiscus, Beth. I know you are an avid gardener. I admire your skill.
Flowers really do improve my mood! These are beautiful pictures Mom.
Thanks, Julie. While we are still having low temps here in Central Coast California and I have yet to put on summer clothes, the flowers keep my spirit alive. Love, Mom
