An Unexpected Blessing
A couple of weeks ago I received a sweet blessing in the form of an email from a woman I had not met before–but whom I now consider a friend. Her name is Marcy. With her permission I’m including it here:
I opened the cover, I did not know where I took the book from, as my mother told me before she loved it. Inside it was signed:
To Anita All Joy! Karen O’Connor 3-14-01
I looked at my husband and said, “This was no accident, this book fell off for a reason. Either my mother or God gave it a little push!” And then I began to read it aloud! I am very GRATEFUL that I did. My husband and I are strong Christians, but that doesn’t mean we don’t need a reminder on occasion. He was very inspired! In today’s world especially!
My mom passed from ALS in 2015 and I miss her very much. She is the person I have the most gratitude for and made me the person I am today. Although I don’t know as I can hold a candle to her yet, but I am hoping I have a few more years to work up to it.
Thank you,
Marcy
Such experiences bring such joy. I felt God knitting our hearts together (Marcy, her husband and her mother and me).
Whatever the circumstances, I find it continually uplifting to see how God displays over and over again his promise to never leave nor forsake us and to be with us in all things in all ways.
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)
Just the coolest story Mom!
Love,
Julie
Thanks, honey. I thought so too.
This made my day! No mere coincidence…Truly a Godwink!
Thanks for your sweet comment, Chloe. I agree. A Godwink.
Thank you for sharing this story. I have shared this experience with so many people. It was truly a Godwink! (Thank you for that new word btw)
Have a blessed day,
Marcy
Thanks again, Marcy, for blessing my day and that of my readers.
Oh my…the very scripture that came to me after John passed away. In spite of my grief that scriptire was a blessing.
Love hearing this, Joan. How serendipitous.
Such a lovely “God Wink”! ♥
Carrie
Indeed, Carrie. Glad you agree.
This story was a blessing Karen especially seeing how God continues to use your encouraging writings today. It reminded me of a verse I have learned to take comfort in:
“I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” Psalms 27:13
Grateful for God’s goodness!
