A Time To…
Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Psalm 37:3
Especially in today’s climate of unrest and division in our country…in our world… I decided to reread the wisdom in the Book of Ecclesiastes.
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
What does the worker gain from his toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on men. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
ECCLESIASTES 3:1-11
I will say “Amen” to this great scripture. We need to read it often and I thank you for sharing it with us. We truly do need to be thankful for God’s love and never forget to thank Him !
I am thankful for you, Karen. Love and blessings. Margaret
Thank you, Margaret, and I love and appreciate you and all the wisdom you share with us.
Amen! Karen just reading the beautiful scripture helps me to slow down. I am always thankful for you Karen. I’m also thankful for Margaret’s wonderful comments all of the time. Love you. Sandy
Thanks, Sandy. It’s great that we can share with each other and learn from one another’s comments even if we haven’t met in person. .
I, too, slow down when I read this wonderful scripture from Ecclesiastes. It puts everything in perspective! Thanks for another reminder about the sovereignty of God!
Thank you, Glenda. I’m going to read this scripture more often too. Looking forward to our cruise the end of the month. We will have an opportunity then to slow down and simply enjoy what God has for us.
A wonderful “poem” of life’s journey .
Such a good scripture for us all to ponder.
I have quoted the part about “a time to die “ just recently. I have a sister who is nearing that time, not with fear but with joyous anticipation of the journey Home!
God bless you Karen for posting this today.
Thank you, Etta Mae. I’m with you in spirit as you prepare to say good-bye to your dear sister. I lost one of my sisters in 2017 and think about her every day–and so grateful to know she is at peace with God.
Beautiful reminder. I love this. Thank you, Karen.
Thanks, Heidi. I love it too. A daily reminder.
Knowing that time is in God hands, and His work is powerful strength for our bones, He loves us all more than we’ll ever know. Thank you Jesus for our Salvation! Thank you Karen for your beautiful blogs 🤗🤗
Thanks, Cathy and Walter. I always appreciate hearing from you. May the Lord keep you close and bless you mightily.
