Ooopsy Doopsy!
Here are some funny and sometimes not so funny experiences and prayers people have shared with me over the years for one of my books. I can relate to more of them than I like to admit. š Maybe you can too!
God, I’m thankful for the eyes to seeāāthe child who nearly darted in front of my car and the ears to hearāāyour reminder to slow down.
God, lead me in the way I need to go when it comes to hearing the pain and hurt in another person’s life instead of barreling ahead with my woes.
Lord, I like your words in John 10:10. “My purpose is to give you life in all its fullness.” What a comfort they are.
Jesus, be with me please, when I stumble over a word or trip on a step. Pick me up and dust me off so I can start all over again.
What a blessing, dear God, to know that you are with me 24/7, especially when I took a pain pill when I met to take a vitamin.
Thank you, God, that you kept me from putting my new shoes in the give-away box and keeping the old ones. I have to wonder where my mind is sometimes.
Did I leave my cell phone in Donna’s car? I hope not ’cause she’s on vacation. Lord, please help me find it.
Lord, you were there when I brushed my teeth with antibiotic cream and treated my cut with toothpaste. What’s to become of me with such senior moments to distract me?
God, what’s this in my hand? I have the leash but where’s my dog? At home by the front door, waiting for me to take him on a walk. Oh my, I do need prayer.
Lord, help me to keep my cool now that I realize I mailed a checkāwithout an envelope. Thankfully, my name and contact information are on the check. Bring it back, I pray.
Dear God, please remind my legs to cooperate with me when I want to stand up and to bend gently when I want to sit down.
āIāll never let you down, never walk off and leave you. . .ā (Hebrews 13:6 The Message)
ALL great prayers, Karen!
Thanks, Heidi. The answer to my prayer about restoring my blog notifications was answered too! God is faithful.
The prayers above are all great and it seems to me that each person has a very personal relationship with our Creator and are comfortable in their prayer request. I think God must have a great sense of humor. I pray about everything far more now, I am sure, that I used to when I was a ‘younger and working girl’ smile.Because of my balance problem when I have to get up early in the mornings, I often say to God: “okay, God, You and I together can do this.” AND We do! Most of the time I tell Him thank you but I am sure I miss some times. I am so glad He understands me!
Glad to receive this blog, I really missed last weeks. SO happy you have an “all clear” now and all is well. Love to you, Margaret
Thanks so much, Margaret. I love hearing about your prayer life. How blessed we are to have our God to cry out to and to laugh with in prayer. Last week’s blog is posted below this one if you want to read it.
Thanks for the laugh-out-loud, Karen! Creator definitely has a sense of humour š
For sure. So glad we can pray to our God who can laugh with us and cry too.
Love this very real and transparent request for a big and gracious God to accompany one throughout life and all its stages…. Thank you for sharing this.
Great to hear from you, Terri. I appreciate your comment.
Oh my can I ever relate. Thank heavens God is on duty 24-7. His never ending love of us…his children is awesome.
He hears our prayers and is very aware of our frustrations.
Glad everything is in working order for you.
Thanks for your comment, Joan. It’s always great to hear from you. I agree. God has everything under control.
Great stuff, Karen, and some quite humorous. Blessings!
Thanks, Carol. I like to think that our lighthearted prayers bring a smile to God as well.
Weird I just discovered your site by looking for South Park figures on Google. But I cant find any articles on that topic on here?
